Cody received his BFA from the University of Montana where he focused on ceramic sculpture. Cody has also graduated from the Rocky Mountain School of photography and is working as an event photographer in Missoula. Cody moved to a small town just outside of Oslo, Norway for a year after his high school graduation and that time over seas has had a strong influence on his work. Cody's work is often socially, politically, or sexually charged.
Cody has been a part of multiple group/juried shows. He did a month long residency at Medalta in Medicine Hat, Canada, where he showed in the Resident exit show. Concerning Function was purchased from his BFA exhibition, in 2014, by the Montana Museum of Art and Culture. Cody took part in a wood-fire residency at the Cub Creek Foundation in Virginia in ‘17-18. He recently finished a residency at Taos Clay Studio. Cody’s exit show, Indifferent Dependency, was on view in June of 2019.
